POSITION SUMMARY:
The Licensed Pharmacy Professional is accountable for managing the pharmacy's operations, ensuring the accurate compounding and dispensing of medications as per prescriptions from authorized healthcare providers. This role adheres to both state and federal regulations, as well as institutional policies governed by the Board of Pharmacy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Prescription Review: Scrutinizes prescriptions for accuracy, determines necessary components, and assesses their appropriateness for patient use.
  2. Record Maintenance: Keeps comprehensive records, including pharmacy files, patient profiles, inventory logs, and control records for regulated substances.
  3. Collaboration: Works alongside healthcare professionals to strategize, monitor, and assess the quality and efficacy of pharmaceutical treatments, offering insights on drug applications and properties.
  4. Medication Dispensing: Accurately compounds and dispenses medications as directed by healthcare practitioners, overseeing the process when delegating tasks to staff.
  5. Patient Consultation: Provides guidance regarding drug interactions, potential side effects, proper dosages, and appropriate medication storage practices.
  6. Supply Management: Responsible for ordering and procuring pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  7. Additional Duties: Performs other related responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be licensed as a Pharmacist by the relevant state board as stipulated by state law. Additional qualifications may be required as determined by the agency's recruitment policies.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Proficient understanding of pharmacological principles, state and federal drug regulations, and the operational dynamics of healthcare facilities. Capable of developing training materials and conducting educational sessions for medical staff. Competent in maintaining records of controlled substances and interpreting medication orders.
