LICENSED PHARMACY SPECIALIST
As a key member of the healthcare team, the Licensed Pharmacy Specialist is responsible for managing the compounding and dispensing of medications in accordance with prescriptions issued by authorized medical professionals. This role is governed by state and federal regulations, ensuring compliance with the Board of Pharmacy.

Position Overview:
The Licensed Pharmacy Specialist will:
  • Review prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness, determining necessary ingredients for patient use.
  • Maintain comprehensive records, including pharmacy files, patient profiles, and inventories of controlled substances.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess and enhance the quality and effectiveness of medication regimens.
  • Compound and dispense medications as prescribed, ensuring precise calculations and measurements.
  • Provide essential information regarding drug interactions, side effects, and proper medication storage.
  • Order and manage pharmaceutical supplies and medications.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A strong understanding of pharmacology principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws governing prescription medications.
  • Experience in the operations of healthcare facilities.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training programs for medical staff.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and inventories.
  • Effective communication skills for interpreting and dispensing medication orders.

Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must be licensed as a Pharmacist by the appropriate state board, with additional qualifications subject to agency review and approval. Other relevant education or experience may be considered in lieu of specific requirements.
