Data Center Operations Manager

We are seeking an exceptional Data Center Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Infrastructure Operations organization, you will be responsible for leading a large organization, managing Area Managers and/or Facility Managers who own data center facility infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data center IT infrastructure, data center facilities infrastructure, and how the two coexist. You will be responsible for attainment of organizational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hiring, managing, and developing the data center engineering and operations management team.
- Facilitating the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build outs, new colo build-outs, AWS data center expansions, and colo expansions.
- Operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for Amazon datacenters.
- Vendor management of colocation data center services providers.
- Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience operating as a manager of managers.
- 10+ years of relevant experience managing data center operations, facility engineering operations, critical environment facilities, datacenter build-outs and scaling, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Engineering and Business Administration, or related fields.
- Proven ability to hire, develop, and manage high-performing technical teams.
- Expert knowledge of data center mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
- Prior ownership of the operation of a mission-critical team and/or product.
