Role: IT Support Specialist

Location: Boardman, OR – onsite

Position Type: 5 month contract

Hourly Rate: $28-$35/hr.

Schedule: 40 hours a week – 1 week per month on call


Ledgent Technology is assisting a valued client looking to fill this role temporarily during an employee leave of absence. The IT Support Specialist will serve as the first point of contact for technical issues via phone, email, in-person, or remote support. Log and resolve service tickets, escalating complex issues when needed. This role involves troubleshooting, documentation, IT asset tracking, and user training to ensure smooth technology operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Installation & Troubleshooting: Install, configure, maintain, and repair workstations, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Service Desk Support: Serve as the first point of contact for technical issues via phone, email, in-person, or remote support primarily supporting Microsoft Office products including Office 365. Log and resolve service tickets, escalating complex issues when needed.
  • On-call Rotation: Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for approximately 1 week per month.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain knowledge bases, track IT assets, and ensure security and compliance (PCI, SOX, GAP).
  • Training & Collaboration: Provide user training and work closely with IT teams to enhance processes and first-call resolution.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with technology trends, participate in projects, and recommend solutions.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of IT support with Microsoft products; 2+ years in a compliance-focused business environment.
  • Certifications: Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCP, MCITP-E) preferred.


Other: Must have a valid driver’s license and flexibility for occasional travel, weekend shifts, and after-hours work. Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills are essential.
