We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Canduct Boardman. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, scheduling, and planning activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize knowledge of supply chain, scheduling, and planning activities to deliver exceptional results.
- Schedule and coordinate delivery of materials required for production – expedite as required.
- Forecast/analyze data to determine future order requirements and place orders/create schedules within required lead times.
- Provide leadership to the operations and material handling/warehouse team to ensure compliance with inventory control processes.
- Create and analyze reports for key metrics – identify opportunities for improvement i.e. days of inventory, inventory levels, purchasing levels, inventory accuracy.
- Order plant supplies/consumables, MRO materials and schedule deliveries to prevent impact to production – monitor min/max levels.
- Monitor and perform system transactions to support inventory accuracy in Visual.
- Plan and execute monthly/year-end inventory counts.
- Contribute to planning of cost-effective transportation plan for domestic and overseas shipments.
- Participate in scrap reduction projects.
- Implement continuous improvement projects to reduce inventory levels and improve material flow and usage.
- Update master data in Visual for materials and suppliers as required.
- Complete regular schedule of supplier evaluations and coordinate supplier onboarding process.
- Prepare and participate in audits i.e. ISO
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-year college diploma
- 2-3 years Purchasing/Planning and inventory control experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience, with excellent Excel skills and Visual is an asset
- Experience with MRP/ERP database systems.
