Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Risk Management Specialist to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. In this role, you will develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations such as HIPAA, FERPA, PCI DSS, and GDPR.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze emerging threat indicators, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity trends to recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with external regulations, data security/privacy standards, and relevant laws applicable to healthcare and higher education.
  • Install, upgrade, maintain, and monitor information security-related systems.
  • Maintain a high-security standard by collaborating with cross-functional teams and performing tests to uncover network vulnerabilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity risk management.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM preferred.
