Company Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and in-depth knowledge of industry standards and trends.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data. This includes performing proactive research to identify and understand new threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data
  • Performing proactive research to identify and understand new threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits
  • Reviewing violations of computer security procedures and discussing procedures with the HHSC/TIERS Security team
  • Conferencing with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations, and programming changes
Required Skills and Qualifications

The following qualifications and skills are required for this position:

  • Strong ability to identify problems/issues, analyze, and evaluate alternatives and recommend/implement effective solutions
  • 8+ years of experience providing Windows and Linux operating system and application support
  • High-level knowledge and experience of network facilities and data processing techniques, computer hardware and software, network operating system and security software, and performance monitoring and capacity management tools
  • Ability to prepare concise written reports appropriate to the audience and communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Responsible for ensuring all networks have adequate security to prevent unauthorized access and must ensure that all security systems are current with any software or hardware changes in the company
  • Extensive experience with working with and implementing NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53, MARS-E controls, POA&Ms, and developing Corrective Action Plans
