About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our Gaming Commission in New Buffalo, MI. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the regulation of gaming operations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing strategic direction to our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall direction and coordination of Gaming Commission staff, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, supervising, and developing employees.
  • Assist in enforcing Gaming Commission orders and decisions, and assist the Commission with challenges to Commission decisions.
  • Develop and maintain a suitable records management and retention system, ensuring confidentiality and protection of sensitive information.
  • Ensure that all Commission investigations are conducted efficiently and professionally, and that the Gaming Commission and Gaming Operations are in full compliance with the Compacts, the Band's Gaming Regulatory Acts, and the regulations promulgated thereunder.
  • Manage and supervise the Licensing and Investigation Division, Compliance and Enforcement Division, and Internal Audit Division of the Gaming Commission.
  • Negotiate and enter into contracts for the acquisition of goods and services, following the appropriate Tribal Government purchasing processes.
  • Organize and plan the work for the Gaming Commission, and report to the Commission on a regularly scheduled basis on the status of Gaming Commission activities.
