About KIPP Baltimore

KIPP is a non-profit organization that operates a network of college-preparatory, public charter schools catering to students from elementary through high school. Our institutions are part of the public education system, with open enrollment for all students in Baltimore City. Established in 2002 with the launch of KIPP Ujima Village Academy, KIPP Baltimore has expanded to include KIPP Harmony Academy, collectively serving over 1,500 students in grades K-8 daily. Our mission, in partnership with families and communities, is to create joyful and academically excellent schools that equip students with the skills and confidence necessary to pursue their chosen paths—be it college, career, or beyond—enabling them to lead fulfilling lives and contribute to a more equitable society.

In addition to providing high-quality academic experiences, KIPP Baltimore invests in its students' futures through the KIPP Forward program, which assists and guides students in gaining admission to college-preparatory high schools and supports their success in college and careers. Currently, KIPP Forward serves over 1,100 alumni, with more than 90% graduating high school within four years and 70% advancing to college.

KIPP Baltimore is part of the national Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP), a network of over 200 free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools in underserved communities across the United States, serving nearly 100,000 students.
