We are looking for a dedicated Rehabilitation Therapy Manager to enhance our Hospital-Based Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinic at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. Our clinic provides a wide array of multidisciplinary services, including Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP). As the Rehabilitation Therapy Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing both the clinical and administrative functions of our Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinic. You will lead a team of committed therapists and support personnel, ensuring that our patients receive top-notch care while upholding operational excellence.

**Required: Outpatient experience. Previous leadership and process improvement experience preferred.

**Preferred: Background in Physical Therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Balance patient care and administrative duties effectively.
  • Provide clinical oversight and mentorship to PTs, OTs, and SLPs to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Encourage a collaborative and supportive team culture, where dedicated staff deliver the highest standard of evidence-based practice.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives to elevate clinical services, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
  • Exemplify strong leadership qualities and a commitment to excellence in patient care.
  • Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Act as a liaison between the clinic, hospital administration, and external partners.
Job Duties
  • Oversee daily operations of assigned Rehabilitation Therapy staff and students.
  • Represent the department in cross-departmental projects.
  • Engage in direct and consultative patient care.
  • Coordinate quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Perform routine and specialized therapy procedures.
  • Maintain proficiency in technical skills necessary for effective patient management.
  • Communicate regularly with the patient care team, patients, families, and other stakeholders involved in patient care.
  • Participate in program design committees to align service commitments with resource capabilities and best clinical practices.
  • Address consumer issues and direct them appropriately.
  • Contribute to departmental goals and objectives.
  • Review and update patient care and treatment procedures continuously.
  • Meet with staff to discuss progress and strategize future actions.
  • Administer and communicate policies and procedures in accordance with applicable guidelines.
  • Engage in staff management and performance evaluation, including interviewing candidates and making hiring recommendations.
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback, address issues, train employees, verify competencies, and suggest skill development opportunities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations.
  • Implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Monitor workflow and productivity.
  • Guide quality improvement and productivity activities to meet regulatory standards.
  • Adjust activities as needed to maintain productivity levels.
  • Represent Rehabilitation Therapy in hospital-wide program design and committees to ensure service commitments align with resource capabilities and clinical excellence.
  • Communicate policy changes to relevant departments and stakeholders.
  • Act on behalf of the Director of Rehabilitation Therapy in hospital meetings as required.
  • Resolve complaints and operational issues.
  • Develop and maintain training and orientation programs for staff to uphold discipline-specific competencies.
  • Encourage continuing education and professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Serve as a resource for medical staff, students, and allied health professionals regarding Rehabilitation Therapy operations.
  • Assist in interpreting applicable policies and evaluate staff educational needs based on clinical demands.
  • Maintain records related to continuing education, personnel, financial operations, and quality improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to documentation standards.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring to ensure compliance with financial constraints.
  • Identify current and future program needs and develop timelines for budget considerations.
  • Assist with inventory management and identify supply and equipment needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited program in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech-language pathology.
  • Current licensure as a Speech Pathologist, Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist in the State of Georgia.
  • A minimum of five years of clinical experience, including two years in a management or supervisory role is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association is required.
