Are you a dedicated and forward-thinking Physical Therapist eager to create a positive impact? We are in search of a motivated Outpatient Physical Therapist to enhance our interdisciplinary team at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. In this role, you will deliver direct one-on-one treatments for 60 minutes, collaborating with a skilled team of Physical Therapists (PT), Occupational Therapists (OT), and Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs). This is an opportunity to thrive in a nurturing environment that values your expertise and commitment. Our outpatient clinic is well-regarded for its extensive services and patient-focused approach. We serve a diverse patient demographic and provide specialized treatments in areas such as orthopedics, neurology, lymphedema, vestibular therapy, pelvic floor therapy, and driving evaluations. While advanced certifications like dry needling, NCS, OCS, and GCS are advantageous, they are not mandatory.
- Conducts thorough evaluations and assessments, providing physical therapy treatments and education tailored to the needs of seriously ill patients or those with complex medical conditions within an interdisciplinary framework.
- Assists in supervising staff and students, and contributes to the development of in-service training programs for ongoing staff development.
- Offers continuous guidance and instruction to ensure efficient operations while supervising students and support staff.
- Maintains regular communication with members of the patient care team, the patient, family members, and others involved in the patient's care.
- Evaluates and aids staff in assessing complex patients and challenges.
- May be expected to assist the department with peer reviews.
- Educates and trains patients and families on relevant aspects of the patient's care.
- Plans, develops, and implements effective treatment plans that address the individualized needs of patients, incorporating clear, measurable goals.
- Delivers direct patient care, performing specialized treatments according to the patient's personalized care plan.
- Collaborates with other members of the patient care team and utilizes community resources to ensure continued care, support, and follow-up for patients post-discharge.
- Conducts in-service programs and provides training to other staff in areas of expertise, serving as a clinical instructor to students.
- Offers consultation related to clinical management to the professional community and the broader community.
- Responds to requests for professional information or advice, referring more complex issues to the appropriate staff.
- Participates in committees addressing patient care matters or other committees as requested by the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from a physical therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
- Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Georgia.
- At least one year of experience as a physical therapist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association is required.
