Description

Are you a passionate and innovative Physical Therapist looking to make a difference? We are seeking an enthusiastic Outpatient Physical Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. You will provide direct 1-on-1 treatments for 60 minutes, collaborating with a talented team of Physical Therapists (PT), Occupational Therapists (OT), and Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs). This is your chance to work in a supportive environment that values your expertise and dedication. Our hospital-based outpatient clinic is renowned for its comprehensive services and patient-centered approach. We cater to a diverse patient population and offer specialized treatments in orthopedics, neurology, lymphedema, vestibular therapy, pelvic floor therapy, and driving evaluations. Advanced certifications such as dry needling, NCS, OCS, GCS are preferred but not required.

  • Provides comprehensive evaluations and testing, physical therapy treatments and education to seriously ill patients or those having complex medical problems and families which are consistent with patient's individualized needs and carried out within an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Assists in supervising staff and students and in developing in-service training programs for continuing staff development. 
  • Provides guidance and instruction on an ongoing basis to ensure efficient operations and supervises students and support staff.
  • Communicates regularly with members of the patient care team, the patient, family members and others involved with the patient's care.
  • Assess and assists the staff in assessing complex patients and problems.
  • Maybe expected to assist the department in performing peer reviews.
  • Instructs and trains patient and family regarding pertinent aspects of the patient's care.
  • Plans, develops and implements a result-oriented treatment plan responsive to the individualized needs of the patient and includes clear, measurable goals.
  • Provides direct patient care; performs specialized treatments according to the patient's individualized plan of care.
  • Collaborates with other members of the patient care team and uses community resources to plan for the continued care, support and follow-up of the patient after discharge.
  • Conducts in-service programs, provides other staff with training in area of expertise and serves as a clinical instructor to students.
  • Assists in providing consultation related to clinical management to professional community and community at large.
  • Responds to requests for professional information or advice and refers more complex matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Participates in committees addressing patient care related matters or other committees as requested by the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from physical therapy school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Georgia.
  • One year of experience as a physical therapist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
