Position Summary

Are you a dedicated and forward-thinking Physical Therapist eager to create a positive impact? We are looking for a motivated Outpatient Physical Therapist to become part of our collaborative team at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. You will engage in direct one-on-one therapy sessions lasting 60 minutes, working alongside a skilled group of Physical Therapists (PT), Occupational Therapists (OT), and Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs). This is an opportunity to thrive in a supportive setting that appreciates your skills and commitment. Our outpatient clinic is well-regarded for its extensive services and patient-focused methodology. We serve a varied patient demographic and provide specialized care in areas such as orthopedics, neurology, lymphedema, vestibular therapy, pelvic floor therapy, and driving assessments. While advanced certifications like dry needling, NCS, OCS, and GCS are advantageous, they are not mandatory.

  • Conducts thorough evaluations and assessments, delivering physical therapy treatments and education tailored to the needs of critically ill patients or those with complex medical conditions, within a collaborative environment.
  • Assists in mentoring staff and students, and in creating training programs for ongoing staff development.
  • Provides continuous guidance and instruction to ensure smooth operations and oversees students and support personnel.
  • Maintains regular communication with the patient care team, patients, family members, and others involved in the patient's treatment.
  • Evaluates and aids in the assessment of complex patient cases and challenges.
  • May be expected to assist the department with peer reviews.
  • Educates and trains patients and families regarding essential aspects of care.
  • Designs, develops, and implements effective treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient, incorporating clear, measurable objectives.
  • Delivers direct patient care and performs specialized treatments according to individualized care plans.
  • Collaborates with other members of the care team and utilizes community resources to ensure continued care, support, and follow-up after discharge.
  • Conducts training sessions, shares expertise with staff, and serves as a clinical instructor for students.
  • Provides consultation on clinical management to the professional community and the broader public.
  • Responds to inquiries for professional guidance or advice and refers more complex issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Participates in committees focused on patient care or other departmental committees as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a physical therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Georgia.
  • At least one year of experience as a physical therapist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association is required.
