Join KBA, Inc. as a Construction Office Engineer/Project Controls Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Office Engineer/Project Controls Specialist to join our team at KBA, Inc. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for maintaining all project records, assisting with administrative and project support tasks, and developing creative solutions to help our clients make smart and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including documents, correspondence, and meeting minutes.
  • Assist with preparing responses to Contractor Submittals and RFIs, and lead resolution of field issues.
  • Quantify potential contract changes and facilitate and track change orders.
  • Process and distribute Change Proposals, Design Changes, and Change Orders.
  • Conduct impact analysis of cost and schedule changes, and forecast quantity/cost to complete.
  • Prepare correspondence to administer the terms of owner-contractor agreements, and report on construction progress and trends.
  • Track correspondence for issue resolution, follow-up, changes, and directions.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, attend progress and safety meetings, and take meeting notes.
  • Compile monthly progress payments, maintain relevant records, and review Contractor/Subcontractor payroll for compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document control software (e.g., SharePoint, Primavera).
  • Ability to perform mathematics sufficient for volumetric calculation and basic surveying.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including good interpersonal skills to maintain positive work relationships with clients, contractors, co-workers, and management.
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Preferred Requirements:
  • PE certification.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, such as boxes of records.
  • Ability to sit at a workstation and perform data entry.
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs and ladders, and navigate uneven terrain throughout construction worksites for up to 10 hours a day.
