Supervisory Government Information Specialist

Job Summary:
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Government Information Specialist to join our team. As a Supervisory Government Information Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration and implementation of the VA-FOIA program and providing expert advice and guidance to business lines across the VA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and implement the VA-FOIA program, ensuring compliance with congressional mandates and Office of Management and Budget guidance.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to business lines across the VA on FOIA compliance and implementation.
- Lead and participate in ad-hoc workgroups and study teams to gather data, conduct analysis, and develop VA-FOIA management models.
- Oversee a major segment of the VA-FOIA program, ensuring effective management and implementation.
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert on the Freedom of Information Act, the Federal Records Act, and implementing regulations.
Requirements:
- At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.
- Mastery of the Freedom of Information Act, the Federal Records Act, and implementing regulations.
- Experience with FOIA fee shifting, FOIA fee collection, FOIA fee estimates, and FOIA operations.
- Record management leadership experience.
- Training planning and coordination experience across a large enterprise.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional travel may be required for this position.
- Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm.
- Compressed/Flexible: As determined by the Agency Policy.
