This role entails overseeing a team of support and production-level employees within Manufacturing Operations. You will be responsible for orchestrating daily activities and assisting in the management and oversight of production processes, maintenance, plant engineering, scheduling, and personnel management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a materials department with a strong emphasis on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Foster a safety-first culture by exemplifying adherence to safety protocols.
  • Promote a 5S mindset across all plant areas, ensuring exceptional housekeeping standards.
  • Encourage a workplace environment that values high employee morale and equitable treatment focused on achieving results.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for employees, providing constructive and unbiased feedback.
  • Ensure that departmental goals are consistently met or surpassed.
  • Identify and address operational gaps throughout the workday.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing principles and problem-solving methodologies such as Kaizens, Value Stream Mapping, 5-Whys, 8Ds, and Standard Work.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Plan daily workforce activities, managing vacation schedules, absenteeism, and overtime within budgetary constraints.
  • Develop and maintain associate skills matrices to effectively staff operations that prioritize quality. Create and implement training programs as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in warehouse and/or logistics.
  • OR
  • High School Diploma/GED with at least 10 years of supervisory experience in warehouse and/or logistics.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, adapting to changing circumstances while working independently.
  • Demonstrated patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Motivated and open to new challenges.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Quick learner with a keen eye for improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to collaborate with various departments and levels within the organization.
  • Flexibility to work beyond established hours as needed.
  • Results-oriented and focused on supporting complex operations.
  • Professional and ethical conduct in all business and personal interactions.
  • High-energy demeanor that fosters a collaborative team environment.
  • Proven ability to implement changes in materials systems.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications including email and Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with key OSHA regulations (e.g., Confined Spaces, Electrical Safety, Energy Isolation, and Machine Safeguarding) is advantageous.
  • Experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse practices is a plus.
