POSITION: 2nd Shift Supervisor 3pm-11pm

REPORTS TO: Health and Wellbeing Director

DEPARTMENT: Resident Care

STATUS: NON-EXEMPT


SUMMARY

The 2nd Shift Supervisor is tasked with overseeing daily operations and ensuring high-quality care for residents within their designated Community or Grove. This role involves participating in the recruitment, management, and training of Resident Care personnel. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating staff schedules for the assigned Grove(s).
  • Coordinating resident care services and collaborating with department heads from dining, maintenance, engagement, and housekeeping.
  • Maintaining a clean, secure, and welcoming environment.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal staffing regulations.
  • Communicating effectively with family members and organizing resident activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program and medication assistant program.
  • Active certification on the Georgia Nursing Assistant Registry and in medication administration.
  • Successful background check, TB screening, and health assessment.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Completion of initial fire safety training as mandated by the Georgia Safety Fire Commissioner.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guarantees the consistent delivery of resident care services.
  • Documents and follows up on changes in resident care needs.
  • Creates and manages staff schedules for Certified Medication Assistants and Resident Assistants.
  • Facilitates engaging activities for residents, including social, recreational, and personal growth opportunities.
  • Reviews wellness files in accordance with Orchard policies and applicable guidelines.
  • Communicates with the Health and Wellbeing Director regarding changes in medication or service levels.
  • Assists the Clinical Coordinator in managing resident care appointments.
  • Completes monthly wellness visits, including vital signs and weights for each resident.
  • Maintains wellness supplies and emergency kits for the community.
  • Monitors medication administration and treatment profiles for accuracy.
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of the Medication Room and related areas.
  • Participates in the recruitment and onboarding of new staff members.
  • Facilitates ongoing training and competency assessments for care staff.
  • Engages in risk management initiatives.
  • Promotes teamwork and open communication.
  • Addresses and resolves issues promptly, utilizing critical thinking skills.
  • Manages challenging situations with residents and families, ensuring high-quality service.
  • Provides personal care assistance to residents as needed.
  • Administers prescribed medications under RN supervision.

PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

The role requires the ability to lift over 25 lbs routinely and over 50 lbs occasionally, as well as the capability to transfer residents weighing 150 lbs or more. Employees must be able to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, and reach as necessary. Cognitive skills required include critical thinking, data analysis, and effective communication.
