Job Summary

Child Action, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Child Care Subsidy Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Child Care Services department, you will be responsible for conducting individual interviews with parents to determine eligibility and evaluate the need for subsidized child care, enrolling new families, and accurately processing recertifications and changes according to established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct new client enrollment and verify initial assessment information
  • Calculate income to determine client eligibility and evaluate client need for child care services
  • Review agency forms, policies, guidelines, and expectations with parents and clarify any questions or concerns
  • Enter information into the CATS database and verify documentation with information in the database system
  • Monitor caseload, input information for upcoming changes into the tickler system, and meet with clients to update any changes
  • Process re-certifications and determine client eligibility to continue receiving services
  • Communicate with providers to ensure understanding of parent eligibility and provider billing
  • Perform Worker-of-the-Day duties and cover client calls and walk-ins for absent Child Care Subsidy Coordinators
  • Assist other Child Care Subsidy Coordinators as directed by the supervisor or manager

Requirements:

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to understand the problems and issues facing families from diverse ethnic and economic communities
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and agency rules and regulations related to child care services

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be required to attend periodic training and meetings.
