Job Title: Community Center Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Center Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing programs for youth and adults that promote emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement programs that meet the needs of the community, including structured recreation, leagues, and tournaments, as well as unstructured recreation, after-school programs, and summer day camps.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Community Center, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
  • Build relationships with program participants, parents, and staff to promote a sense of community and belonging.
  • Collaborate with Corps Officers to develop and coordinate rental agreements for outside groups and assist with the Christmas campaign.
  • Work with volunteers and staff to help the Corps fulfill its mission and achieve its goals.
  • Assist with the Food Pantry, including packing food for clients, maintaining a clean environment, and keeping Corps Officers informed of pantry stock.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in early childhood education or child development, or 480 hours of experience in the field.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, as well as write simple correspondence and present information effectively to various audiences.
  • Math ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of word processing software.
