Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to oversee all culinary aspects of our banquet and catering functions. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for planning and executing day-to-day banquet culinary operations, creating and implementing menu selections for special events, and ensuring the consistency of food preparation according to hotel recipes and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and oversee day-to-day banquet culinary operations, providing direction to associates as needed.
  • Create and implement menu selections for special banquet themes and events, taking into account guest preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Ensure the consistency of food preparation according to hotel recipes and standards, maintaining high-quality presentation and taste.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies, maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Contribute to maximizing departmental profit by controlling costs, analyzing quality levels, and implementing effective menu engineering strategies.
  • Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance, providing coaching, counseling, and training as needed.
  • Participate in the development of the kitchen's business strategies, working closely with the executive chef and other department heads.
  • Supervise daily setup for menu, anticipating business volume and adjusting work areas and schedules accordingly.
  • Manage time effectively and efficiently, prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities to team members.
  • Establish and maintain effective employee relations and interdepartmental working relationships, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent position.
  • College degree or equivalent degree from a recognized culinary institute preferred.
  • Previous hospitality experience required.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift frequently loads up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Constant walking throughout shift.
  • Must be able to talk, hear, and taste.
