Position Overview

We are looking for a proactive and seasoned Director of Operations to guide the growth of our client's renewable natural gas business. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in operations management, particularly within the renewable energy sector or related fields such as Oil & Gas or Chemical Engineering. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing all facets of production facilities, enhancing processes, and driving operational efficiency to achieve and surpass organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Formulate and execute strategic initiatives to enhance production processes, boost efficiency, and promote sustainable growth.
  • Operations Oversight: Supervise the daily operations of renewable natural gas production facilities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse team, cultivating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Resource Management: Identify opportunities to optimize resource usage, reduce waste, and maximize output through effective planning and allocation.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and permits related to renewable natural gas production, environmental protection, and workplace safety.
  • Performance Evaluation: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess operational performance, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and drive operational excellence.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, finance, and sales, to align operations with business goals and customer needs.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services while optimizing costs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Spearhead initiatives aimed at driving ongoing improvements in operational processes, technologies, and systems to enhance efficiency, reliability, and profitability.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and address operational risks, implement necessary controls, and develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in operations management, ideally within the Oil & Gas or biogas sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in leading operational excellence, process optimization, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of renewable natural gas production processes, equipment, and technology.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities, with a talent for influencing and motivating teams at all levels.
  • Proven capability to think strategically, resolve complex issues, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices in environmental, health, and safety management.
  • Experience in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment focused on innovation and growth.
