Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a Float Position. As an LPN at Open Arms Care, you will provide high-quality nursing care to individuals served, while also contributing to the development of Individual Support Plans (ISPs) through attendance at Interdisciplinary Team Meetings and assessment reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing and health care services to individuals served in accordance with policies and procedures of the organization and within the standards of the state's Nurse Practice Act.
  • Train both clients served and Open Arms Care Corporation employees.
  • Evaluate emergency situations for clients, determine appropriate actions, and follow-up.
  • Accountable for all scheduled and controlled substances as defined by organization policy and procedures and state regulated guidelines.
  • Record and report all vital signs and clinical observations.
  • Administer treatments and medications as ordered. Assist physicians as required.
  • Rotate taking call and advise other LPNs.
  • Notify Health Services Director and physician on-call of any medical incident as dictated by agency policy.
  • Transcribe physician orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Assure that adequate drug and pharmaceutical stocks are maintained.
  • Follow facility, pharmacy, and state procedures for ordering and receiving medications.
  • Provide and document all medical and nursing care provided.
  • Ensure the safety of clients at all times.
  • Actively assist direct care employees to provide high-quality care to the clients we serve.
Requirements
  • Must possess a current and valid Tennessee license issued by the State Board of Nursing.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • This role also requires accountability, adaptability to individual needs, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility.
