Overview

**Assistant General Counsel - Labor & Employment**

Los Angeles, California (100% on-site)

**Estimated Salary: $175,000-$300,000 per year**

As an Assistant General Counsel, you will serve within the Office of the General Counsel at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Your primary responsibility will be to provide legal support to minimize organizational liability and advance our mission.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide proactive advice to stakeholders on various legal and regulatory issues.
  2. Collaborate with Human Resources to advise on employee-related matters, including recruitment, onboarding, discipline, terminations, and wage and hour compliance.
  3. Work on labor issues, understanding NLRA obligations, and experience with campaigns and unfair practices.
  4. Maintain knowledge of OFCCP compliance and handle employment litigation/arbitration, EEOC/CRD charges, DLSE charges, and wage and hour disputes.
  5. Manage outside counsel, guide case strategy, and identify potential areas of remediation.
  6. Conduct investigations, oversee privileged investigations, and advise HR on routine investigations.
Qualifications

We seek a highly skilled attorney with:

  • At least 10+ years of labor and employment counseling and litigation experience.
  • Significant experience working with Human Resources in advising on employee-related matters.
  • A deep understanding of employment law, preferably with experience in labor law.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to navigate complex legal matters.

You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven experience in relationship building and partnering. Healthcare or government experience is strongly preferred.
