Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Assistant Project Manager to join our team at Brasfield & Gorrie. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for assisting in the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop project business plans and work with field management to generate job-specific safety plans.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for engineers and architects, and work with pre-construction and field supervision to identify and implement contract deliverables.
  • Create staging, logistics, and phasing plans for projects, and lead coordination of subcontractors.
  • Set up bonding and/or Subguard, change order logs, and cost tracking for projects, and establish project schedules in E1 and Prolog software.
  • Responsible for project startup, including obtaining permits and licenses, and managing jobsite mobilization.
  • Facilitate subcontractor pre-mobilization/startup meetings, and issue and administer subcontracts and purchase orders for multiple trades.
  • Assist in development, planning, and updating of overall project schedules, and lead responsibility for project quality control plan implementation and compliance.
  • Conduct bi-weekly safety surveys with project superintendents, and prioritize, review, and expedite submittals.
  • Expedite material deliveries according to project schedule requirements, and understand quantity updating and work with superintendents to maintain accurate labor forecasts.
  • Develop and administer subcontractor and purchase order change orders, and review projections, labor reports, safety documents, and schedules on a monthly basis.
  • Review and approve material/equipment invoices according to project budget, and prepare payment requests and monitor collections.
  • Meet with city and state agencies to review project and inspections, and attend OAC progress meetings and create monthly status reports.
  • Enter and update information in project management software, and manage and oversee job close-out documentation and procedures.
  • Mentor and train co-op/intern students, and possess a strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.
Requirements
  • Must be an upcoming graduate of an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in construction, engineering, or a related field.
  • Construction internship/work experience is strongly preferred, and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required.
  • Experience managing aspects of construction projects, including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical, is essential.
  • Working knowledge of Prolog and other construction software is required, and a basic understanding of financial accounting systems is necessary.
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills, technical writing skills, conflict resolution skills, and superior organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to multitask, willingness to travel and/or relocate, and a strong commitment to safety and quality are essential.
