About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Civil Infrastructure team at PCL Construction South Florida, Inc. in Miami, Florida. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects, working closely with the project team lead to supervise design, manage project documents, and coordinate with trade partners.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain contracts with select trade partners, defining work scope, answering inquiries, and supervising progress.
  • Participate in change management and change order process, including pricing, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact.
  • Maintain and perform project document control and procedures, coordinating RFIs, shop drawings, and submittal process.
  • Collaborate with the project team lead in supervising design with timely response to the submittal schedule.
  • Participate in reviews of trade partners' submittals for compliance with scope and design documentation.
  • Coordinate with project manager and superintendent in managing and reporting overall project or select scope performance.
  • Prepare and supervise progress claims and estimates.
  • Coordinate inventory and tracking of materials and equipment and expediting material orders.
  • Assist with site inspections from the design team to resolve constructability and site coordination issues.
  • Involved in and participates with overall project closeout, including document archival, maintenance, and warranty manuals.
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of construction experience in an operational role preferred.
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in a related subject area: construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Verified understanding of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, project health, safety, and environment (HSE), quality, building materials, and required standards.
  • Ability to apply basic engineering/problem-solving principles to construction challenges.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize own work, and delegate simple tasks.
  • Ability to build a comprehensive schedule.
  • Ability to coordinate subcontracts and contract documents.
  • Shown understanding in Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems with a strong ability to embrace new technology.
