This summer internship position is designed for senior Ph.D. students majoring in Bioinformatics, CS, Mathematics, or Data Sciences. You'll work closely with senior bioinformaticians to improve the MRD assay dev team's probe design process using advanced ML/AI strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze genomics data, including NGS datasets
  • Model building and evaluation
  • Program in Python and/or R efficiently
  • Utilize computing resources on AWS effectively
  • Summarize work for internal discussions and result sharing
  • Presentation of project work to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed Ph.D. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Strong expertise in machine learning, including familiarity with relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and model evaluation techniques
  • Experience with genomics data preprocessing and feature engineering
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with deep learning frameworks and techniques
  • Experience handling and analyzing large NGS datasets

Salary Range: $37,000.00 - $59,000.00
