As a division of GM Financial, the wholly owned captive finance subsidiary of General Motors, a Fortune 50 entity, we attract talent through our reputation, but it is our culture that fosters retention.
Our culture has been the cornerstone of AmeriCredit's achievements, enabling us to forge robust, enduring relationships with our dealer partners and the consumers we serve.
Moreover, our culture prioritizes employee growth, promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, and enhances the professional journey of our team members, allowing them to discover, thrive, and belong.

Responsibilities:
About the Senior Credit Analyst, I position:
We are in search of dynamic business development partners to enhance our credit team.
Your role will involve cultivating relationships with our auto dealer partners, conducting thorough research and analysis of credit risks, evaluating credit histories, and making informed decisions regarding the approval or denial of credit extensions to prospective customers.
You will receive training and be empowered to deliver value to our dealer partners through our programs and negotiations. Collaboration with our field sales team and other departments will be essential to drive business growth.
If you are a self-driven, solution-oriented relationship builder with a passion for auto finance, consider joining the AmeriCredit Team.
In this role, you will:
- Evaluate credit information to assess the level of risk associated with extending credit
- Make informed decisions to approve or deny credit extensions within the established authority set by senior management and in compliance with State/Federal regulations
- Build strong dealer relationships to meet volume targets and maintain credit quality
- Work towards securing automotive finance contracts that align with AmeriCredit's profitability standards for pricing and performance
Qualifications:
What makes you an ideal candidate:
- Driven to conduct outbound telemarketing calls to dealer customers
- Understanding of sales, credit, and funding processes in consumer finance
- Strong negotiation and sales skills necessary for developing and sustaining productive dealer relationships
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentation abilities
- Innovative mindset with a strong strategic vision
Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2-3 years of experience in underwriting/sales within the automotive sector preferred
What We Offer:
A comprehensive benefits package available from day one, including: 401K matching, paid bonding leave for new parents (12 weeks, 100% paid), tuition assistance, training programs, GM employee auto discounts, community service pay, and nine company holidays.
Our Culture:
Our team members shape our culture — an environment that welcomes innovative ideas, fosters integrity, and creates a sense of community and belonging. Here, we do more than work — we thrive.
Compensation:
Competitive pay with bonus eligibility.
Work-Life Balance:
Flexible hybrid work model, with two days a week in the office.
Salary:
The pay range for this role is: USD $25.96 to $48.08 per hour.
At GM Financial, we are committed to transparency in all aspects of our business, including pay equity. This is the GM Financial pay range for this role and job level. Actual salary and compensation will vary based on factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
This position is eligible for a performance-based incentive plan. Full-time employees can access health benefits from the first day of employment.
