Job Overview

This position involves leading the design and development of power supply products, ensuring their high quality and reliability. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with expertise in switch mode power supply design.

About the Role

  • Design and Development Support
    • The engineer will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of VPS power supply products, including constructing circuits on breadboards for testing new electrical circuitry, conducting electrical evaluations of products, gathering and preparing data from various experiments, and performing failure analysis using a range of analytical techniques.
  • Engineering Analysis
    • The engineer will apply technical expertise in engineering analysis, particularly in high-frequency switch mode power supplies and topologies for power supply circuits/systems, evaluating electrical components and circuitry for complex power components.
  • Sustaining Engineering Support
    • The engineer will provide support for sustaining engineering activities on existing product lines, assist in maintaining and improving existing product designs, and serve as a liaison between customers, sales, and applications engineering teams.
  • Product Development
    • The engineer will develop product planning schedules, draft test and qualification plans, create objective specifications, collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure the smooth introduction and manufacturing of highly reliable products, and produce comprehensive product documentation.

Qualifications

  • A BSEE is required, and an MSEE is preferred. The engineer should have at least 5 years of experience in switch mode power supply design, extensive knowledge of high-frequency switching power supply topologies and control architectures, and proficiency in power conversion design, including high-frequency magnetic design, circuit design and analysis, circuit simulation, layout considerations, feedback control theory, and EMC compliance.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a detail-oriented and self-motivated approach, excellent leadership skills, exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, familiarity with simulation tools such as SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, Pspice, OrCAD, Mathcad, MATLAB, and Excel, and experience and working knowledge of firmware.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $83,000 per year, based on industry standards and the company's size and location. This amount may vary depending on individual qualifications and experience.
