Job Overview

This role is a key part of our team, focusing on the design and development of high-performance power supply products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development Support:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative electrical designs, including constructing prototypes for testing and evaluation.
    • Evaluate and analyze electrical components and circuitry for complex power systems.
    • Gather and process data from experiments, tests, and analytical evaluations to inform design improvements.
    • Perform thorough failure analysis using various techniques to identify areas for optimization.
    • Support prototype verification testing and design approval during product qualification.
  • Engineering Analysis:
    • Apply advanced technical expertise in engineering analysis, particularly in high-frequency switch mode power supplies and topologies for power supply circuits/systems.
    • Evaluate electrical components and circuitry for complex power components, ensuring they meet stringent performance and reliability standards.
  • Sustaining Engineering Support:
    • Provide critical support for sustaining engineering activities on existing product lines, ensuring seamless product updates and enhancements.
    • Assist in maintaining and improving existing product designs, serving as a liaison between customers, Sales, and Applications Engineering teams.
    • Contribute to various design elements, including electrical design, component selection, simulation/testing, PCB layout and assembly, and product specification.
  • Product Development:
    • Develop comprehensive product planning schedules, draft test and qualification plans, and create objective specifications.
    • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure the smooth introduction and manufacturing of highly reliable products.
    • Produce detailed product documentation, including bills of materials, test specifications, assembly instructions, and PC board drawings.
Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree; a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in switch mode power supply design, with a strong background in high-frequency switching power supply topologies and control architectures.
  • In-depth knowledge of power conversion design, including high-frequency magnetic design, circuit design and analysis, circuit simulation, layout considerations, feedback control theory, and EMC compliance.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a detail-oriented and self-motivated approach.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively both as a team player and individual contributor.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, Pspice, OrCAD, Mathcad, MATLAB, and Excel.
  • Experience with firmware is a plus.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $78,000 to $127,000 per year.
