Mechanical Engineering Internship Opportunity

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist a Fulltime Mechanical Engineer in providing mechanical engineering expertise in the area of mechanical design, hydraulics, drivetrains, motors, simulation analysis, or engineering testing procedures.
  • Contribute to the design and development of innovative forklifts and material handling equipment, focusing on one of the following areas:
    • Mechanical Design: Create layouts of proposed designs, ensuring they are functional, safe, reliable, serviceable, manufacturable, cost-effective, and aesthetically and ergonomically correct.
    • Hydraulics: Propose hydraulic systems to satisfy vehicle performance and reliability goals, develop specifications, design systems, and specify components.
    • Drivetrains: Introduce alternate drive train concepts to meet definitions or specifications, perform analysis of proposed gear drive, including gears, bearings, shafts, and housings for various operating conditions.
    • Motors: Research new motor designs, materials, and components, research manufacturing processes, provide cost estimates, and write design documentation.
    • Simulation Analysis: Perform structural or stability analysis of proposed or existing product, structure, or component designs to ensure design goals are met, analyze failed structures or components to determine probable causes of failure, and perform basic load and stress calculations using finite element analysis and fatigue life prediction tools.
    • Testing Procedures: Identify commonly-used concepts, methods, and procedures for the detailed development and analysis of experimental and standardized tests for new and modified products or components, devise and apply validation procedures for components and systems under development, and evaluate new components and technologies.
Job Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Good written communication, verbal communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable means of transportation.
