Job Title: Operations Engineering Intern

Join Scout Clean Energy as an Operations Engineering Intern and gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy industry. This 12-week internship program will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of wind and solar operations and performance engineering.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Technical Services team. As an Operations Engineering Intern, you will work closely with our team to collect and analyze data, troubleshoot wind and solar asset issues, and develop new analytics and processes to improve energy output and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze data to troubleshoot wind and solar asset issues
  • Develop new analytics and processes to improve energy output and performance
  • Work closely with our team to gain industry critical knowledge on renewable asset operation, reporting, and performance metrics
  • Develop a general understanding of the renewable energy industry
Requirements
  • Pursuing a BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics
  • Strong statistical and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Interest in renewable energy industry
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge or experience with SQL, MatLab, R, and/or Python
  • Basic understanding of wind turbine and/or solar module physics
  • Experience with sensors, control logic, or energy systems
  • Knowledge of or experience with RDBMS programs such as MS SQL Server and/or Postgres
  • Experience with PowerBI or Tableau
