Responsibilities:

* Resolve billing and insurance concerns for all acute care centers, ambulatory surgical centers, and clinics
* Review patient financial information and communicate with patients and/or responsible parties regarding third-party reimbursement coverage and/or patient responsibility
* Conduct social and financial assessments and refer patients to medical eligibility agencies for potential assistance through Federal, State, or local healthcare programs
* Collect payment or set up payment plans prior to services being rendered, at time of admission, or during the discharge process

Requirements:

* High School or GED required
* Minimum 3 years related experience in registration, insurance verification, financial counseling, and/or patient accounting
* Minimum 1 year experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
* Notary Public Certification within 6 months of hire required

* Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Billing/Finance processes, practices and concepts, registration, insurance verification and benefits, managed care and government payors
* Basic accounting
* Knowledge of Medical terminology and/or Medical claims
* Demonstrated ability in customer service problem resolution and relationship building
* Ability to type 40 wpm minimum
* Excellent analytical skills
* Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed

Preferred Skills:

* Thorough knowledge of Federal and State laws as they relate to healthcare finance
