Overview

The Senior Program Management Engineer is responsible for orchestrating and guiding design engineers along with other technical specialists on designated projects. This role encompasses the oversight of the creation, execution, and assessment of intricate designs, ensuring the successful management of substantial projects characterized by multifaceted scopes, diverse work streams, and interrelated dependencies.

Key Responsibilities

Key functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Engaging in business development and sales conversations with design clients.
  • Overseeing programs that comprise multiple projects of moderate complexity. Leading cross-functional, global core teams, initiating programs, establishing timelines, and facilitating meetings.
  • Communicating project status to business leaders and clients. Analyzing and interpreting client specifications while providing constructive feedback.
  • Coordinating comprehensive deployment efforts across the site.
  • Implementing changes as directed within the product lifecycle and suggesting enhancements to processes.
  • Planning the overall program and tracking its progress. Leading the creation, review, approval, and updates of the Program Plan/WBS, including resource allocation.
  • Managing daily program operations throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Guiding the program core team to achieve or surpass program objectives related to cost, quality, schedule, features, fulfillment, continuity of supply, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Establishing program governance and control mechanisms.
  • Overseeing the program budget, forecasting actuals against planned income, costs, and expenses.
  • Identifying and managing risks and issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Coordinating projects and their interdependencies, optimizing resource utilization across projects.
  • Aligning deliverables with the program's intended outcomes in collaboration with the business change manager.
  • Maintaining primary program documentation, including the Program Initiation document.

Work Environment

  • This position is typically performed in a standard office setting.
  • Extended periods of sitting and focused visual concentration on computer screens or detailed data may be required.
  • Frequent repetitive manual tasks, such as data entry and using a computer mouse, are expected.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.

Experience and Education

  • 4 to 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
