Overview

The Senior Lead Engineer in Program and Project Management is responsible for overseeing and guiding design engineers and other technical personnel engaged in specific initiatives. This role entails managing the development, execution, and assessment of intricate designs while handling large-scale projects characterized by complex scopes, numerous workstreams, and interdependencies.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Engaging in business development and sales discussions with design clients.
  • Overseeing programs (comprising multiple projects per program) of moderate complexity (technological and organizational). Leading cross-functional, global core teams, initiating programs, establishing timelines, and facilitating meetings.
  • Communicating status updates to business leaders and clients. Analyzing and interpreting client specifications while providing constructive feedback.
  • Coordinating deployment efforts across the site.
  • Implementing changes as directed within the product lifecycle process and suggesting enhancements to processes.
  • Planning the overall program and tracking progress. Leading the creation, review, approval, and updates of the Program Plan/WBS, including resource allocation.
  • Managing daily program activities throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Guiding the program core team to achieve or surpass program objectives (Cost, Quality, Schedule, Features, Fulfillment/Continuity of Supply, Solution delivery across products & service offerings, Customer Specific Needs).
  • Defining program governance and controls.
  • Managing the program budget, forecasting actuals against planned income/revenue, costs/labor, and expenses.
  • Identifying and addressing risks and issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Coordinating projects and their interdependencies, effectively managing and utilizing resources across initiatives.
  • Aligning deliverables with the program's intended outcomes, in collaboration with the business change manager.
  • Maintaining primary program documentation, such as the Program Initiation document.

Physical Requirements

  • Responsibilities are performed in a standard office environment.
  • Tasks may require prolonged periods of sitting and sustained visual focus on computer screens or detailed data.
  • Frequent repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, calculator, etc.) are necessary.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.

Experience and Education

  • 4 to 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
