Overview

The Senior Project Management Engineer is responsible for orchestrating and overseeing design engineers and technical teams engaged in various projects. This role entails managing the development, execution, and assessment of intricate designs while handling large-scale projects characterized by multifaceted scopes and numerous interdependencies.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Engaging in business development and sales conversations with design clients.
  • Overseeing programs that encompass multiple projects of moderate complexity, leading cross-functional global teams, initiating programs, setting timelines, and facilitating meetings.
  • Communicating project status to business leaders and clients, interpreting customer specifications, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Coordinating deployment efforts across the site.
  • Implementing changes as directed within the product lifecycle and suggesting process enhancements.
  • Planning the overall program and tracking progress, including the creation, review, approval, and updates of the Program Plan/WBS and resource allocation.
  • Managing daily program activities throughout the program's lifecycle.
  • Guiding the program core team to achieve or surpass program objectives, including cost, quality, schedule, features, and customer-specific needs.
  • Establishing program governance and controls.
  • Managing the program budget, forecasting actuals against planned income/revenue, costs, and expenses.
  • Identifying and addressing risks and issues while implementing corrective actions.
  • Coordinating projects and their interdependencies, optimizing resource utilization across projects.
  • Aligning deliverables with the program's intended outcomes in collaboration with the business change manager.
  • Maintaining primary program documentation, such as the Program Initiation document.

  • This position is typically performed in a standard office setting.
  • Extended periods of sitting and sustained visual focus on a computer screen or detailed data may be required.

Experience and Education

  • 4 to 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
