Job Overview

The Aquatics Director at British Swim School of Manhattan plays a pivotal role in fulfilling our mission: to provide every individual, regardless of age or skill level, the chance to become a safe and joyful swimmer. This position is integral in training, mentoring, and retaining a vibrant team of swim instructors, which directly contributes to the success and satisfaction of our students and their families within the British Swim School Aquatics Program.


Key Responsibilities
  • Directly report to and maintain communication with the Franchise Business Owner.
  • Oversee, mentor, and retain a skilled team of swim instructors.
  • Manage the scheduling of the aquatics team, including handling time-off requests.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and develop actionable plans to enhance customer retention, revenue, and cost management through aquatics staff.
  • Conduct training sessions, performance reviews, and individual development for aquatics personnel.
  • Address underperformance among aquatics associates through personal improvement plans and coaching, in consultation with the Franchise Business Owner.
  • Lead classes as necessary.
  • Engage with customers to resolve any issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular site evaluations.
  • Ensure that classes and training comply with current company brand standards.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies for lessons at pool locations.
  • Uphold all water and safety standards at the pools.
  • Ensure effective execution of all programs, including the Barracudas program.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions locally and with corporate.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Franchise Business Owner.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience.

Certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguard or equivalent, CPR/First Aid Instructor Certification.

Training: Successful completion of aquatics leadership training through British Swim School Corporate.
