At KLD Labs, Inc., we are seeking a seasoned Director of Engineering to spearhead our Hauppauge, NY location. This visionary leader will be instrumental in driving the development of our cutting-edge machine vision solutions tailored for railway customers. With a rich history spanning over three decades, our company has established itself as a pioneer in the design and integration of AI, ML, laser technology, and machine vision systems for automated railway inspection applications.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, considering the Hauppauge, NY location. As an equal-opportunity employer, we offer a comprehensive compensation package to attract and retain top talent.

As a Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the Engineering department, allocating resources, and prioritizing work efforts based on company-level priorities. Your technical expertise will be instrumental in determining approaches for product development, fostering the development of best practices, and ensuring consistency and correctness from one project to the next. You will also work closely with Project Managers, Sales, Operations, and Service teams to ensure seamless interaction and information flow.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong science/engineering background, preferably in Electrical Engineering, and at least 7 years of experience, with 5+ years of engineering management experience. Your ability to monitor and track multidisciplinary engineering efforts, as well as your experience with Microsoft Project, will be highly valued. As a multilingual candidate, you will be able to effectively communicate with our global team and clients. Familiarity with the railway industry is a plus, as is flexibility and adaptability to change.
