BUSINESS BANKING RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT TEAM LEADER
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
As a pivotal leader, you will oversee a team of Business Banking Relationship Managers (BBRMs) within a designated region. Your role will involve strategizing and guiding the BBRMs to achieve regional objectives, focusing on sales performance, client satisfaction, and maintaining robust credit quality and risk management standards. You will establish individual targets and assist BBRMs in crafting their sales strategies, ensuring that all goals and benchmarks are met effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Business Banking Manager and Regional Business Manager (RBM) to recruit and retain BBRMs for your region. Define objectives, evaluate and approve individual sales strategies, and track performance against sales and service targets.
  • Manage the sales process, including acquiring new clients, generating referrals, and enhancing retention efforts. Engage in joint calling activities with BBRMs and other sales professionals as appropriate.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to BBRMs, fostering a talent pipeline for the region.
  • Assist in project management initiatives for the Director of Business Banking, enhancing brand visibility within the market.
  • Engage in community and industry-related activities to represent the bank and attract potential clients and colleagues.
  • Work closely with each BBRM to develop comprehensive calling and relationship plans, identifying business opportunities from existing clients and prospects.
  • Conduct joint calls with BBRMs on complex accounts to further develop their skills and maximize opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory standards while negotiating intricate transactions.
  • Support the growth and development of branch colleagues, preparing them for future advancement.
  • Monitor and analyze the region's business banking performance, reviewing client profitability and making strategic recommendations.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends and competitive products, adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Analyze challenging credit situations and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Contribute to projects aimed at enhancing the division's performance.
  • Provide expertise in industry practices relevant to the region and division.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in commercial lending or relationship management.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a leadership role managing commercial relationship managers.
  • 5 years of credit experience is essential.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proven leadership, management, sales, and marketing skills.
  • Thorough understanding of products and services relevant to the target client segment.
  • Strong grasp of commercial credit policies and bank operations.
  • Exceptional credit analysis and accounting abilities.
  • Capability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing sales teams.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
