Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting finance operations, including month-end closing, financial statement preparation, and audit processes. This position requires comprehensive financial analysis, developing forecasts, and providing actionable insights to support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with project managers to calculate estimates at completion (EAC) and estimate revenue for long-term projects.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and operations to understand and plan for their resource requirements.
  • Support the annual financial planning process and enhancement initiatives. Prepare financial and internal budgets and forecasts in collaboration with managers across the company.
  • Conduct financial, business, or budget analysis and reporting as directed.
  • Research, select, and compile financial data from multiple sources, including sales, project management, and engineering, to produce business information for decision-making.
  • Manage month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliation of G/L, financial preparation, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for review with the Director of Finance.
  • Ensure accounting staff follow accepted practices and maintain internal controls to protect company assets.
  • Provide financial information and analysis, including ad hoc reports, as requested.
  • Oversee internal and external audits.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, recommending and implementing enhancements to current methods and procedures.
  • Promote continuous learning and development within the finance team to foster an inclusive and diverse work culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Mastery of corporate finance concepts, GAAP, medium level understanding of international insurance requirements and accepted international business practices.
  • Solid research, analytical and problem-solving skills including problem identification, analysis, action planning and execution.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Self-starter who thrives on taking ownership over work and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and to follow through on assignments with minimal direction while being a team player.
  • Ability to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with general management and various stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with SQL and ERP software is a plus.
