Position Summary

This role is pivotal in managing the client-facing relationship across all aspects of the client engagement, encompassing Accounting, Financial Reporting, and tax operations.

The individual will oversee the accounting and tax operations for our clientele, reviewing and analyzing financial statements, journal entries, and supervising team members in maintaining and reconciling ledger accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact and relationship steward for assigned client accounts.
  • Prepare for and participate in client meetings.
  • Serve as an expert in financial records and month-end/year-end closing processes (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements); prepare and review deliverable packages, including financial snapshots and reporting.
  • Ensure that internal controls are established to provide reasonable assurance that client assets are safeguarded.
  • Verify that daily and weekly checklists are completed and that work is performed accurately.
  • Confirm that monthly checklists are finalized and that books are properly closed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of annual checklists and deliverables for the tax team.
  • Coordinate with the tax team to guarantee that extensions, returns, and tax notices are addressed by the expected deadlines.
  • Ensure the team is staffed with qualified financial professionals capable of fulfilling the outlined objectives and responsibilities.
  • Facilitate the ongoing development of team members, including training on processes and procedures, enhancing accounting and tax knowledge, and collaborating with leadership on all development initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource for the team regarding inquiries related to accounting, financial records, and taxation.
  • Perform additional work-related duties as assigned.
  • Reconcile monthly accounts receivable billing and realization analysis, including write-offs.
  • Manage scheduling and budgeting for client engagements.
  • Oversee client projects; operate with general autonomy and independently establish workflows to achieve project objectives.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting; CPA certification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 12 years of accounting experience; experience in business management or family office is advantageous.
  • CFP/PFS certification is a plus.
  • Experience in Tax and/or Audit is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated management experience and skills.
  • Strong organizational, oral, and written communication abilities.
  • Manage team schedules to ensure timely delivery of reports and services.
  • Foster synergy within the team by effectively delegating responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong advocate for continuous improvement; actively seeks and embraces feedback for enhancement and efficiency at all levels of client service.
  • Exceptional consulting skills, including analysis, documentation, communication, and presentation.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.
