Role Responsibilities and Qualifications

We are looking for a PRN Surgical Services Nurse who embodies our values of compassion and care. You will play a crucial role in our team, providing expertise in either the circulating or scrub role, ensuring safe and effective nursing care throughout the surgical process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage the surgical instruments and equipment for your operating room, ensuring all preferences are met.
  • Oversee the surgical environment as the circulator, coordinating all activities during procedures.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions between surgical cases.
  • Utilize safe patient handling techniques during transfers to prevent injury.
  • Maintain a sterile environment, ensuring instruments are clean and the surgical field is organized.
  • Administer patient care and medications, assisting with anesthesia as needed.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and charting before and after procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a surgical setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
  • Active RN license as required by state regulations.
  • Current BCLS certification (online certifications are not acceptable).
  • ACLS certification as required by the facility.
  • CNOR certification is preferred.
