Job Summary and Qualifications
In collaboration with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members, the

Surgical Care Registered Nurse


is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating treatment plans to achieve the objectives of the nursing department.

You will play a vital role in the interdependent team, holding responsibility for achieving positive patient and departmental outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain overall accountability for assigned patients.
  • Manage the efficient flow of patient care, including screening, preparation for examinations, providing general nursing care and comfort, and coordinating admissions, testing, and discharges.
  • Maintain and review patient records, including posting test and examination results.
  • Administer medications according to physician orders.
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans.
  • Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (may include phone triage when necessary).

Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
  • Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice and/or an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
