Job Summary

This position is responsible for the assembly of machines by following blueprints and other written/verbal specifications. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and thoroughly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drilling, tapping, or reaming holes using drill presses
  • Aligning components and bolting, screwing, or riveting them together using hand tools or portable power tools
  • Installing moving parts such as shafts, levers, and bearings
  • Removing burrs and other small particles of metal with hand files and grinders
  • Bending and installing pipe for hydraulic systems
  • May install wiring and other electrical components
  • Verifying alignment and tolerances using measuring instruments
  • Testing or assisting with testing of the operation of completed products
  • Completing accurate documentation as required
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; technical certification or schooling is preferred
  • Previous machine building experience is preferred but proven knowledge of processes, procedures, and hands-on related experience would be considered
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and thoroughly is necessary
  • Exhibit high attention to detail
  • Computer experience is preferred including SAP, MS Office products, and SolidWorks.
  • Excellent work ethic - honesty, good attendance, and ability to communicate effectively is all required
