Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

Ammo Inc is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Engineer to oversee the production of brass ammunition casings with a commitment to excellence and precision.
In this role, you will be pivotal in establishing and implementing processes, policies, and acceptance criteria to ensure strict adherence to specifications across our entire facility.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistical problem solving and Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred). Experience with US and international quality assurance is also a must.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and be able to lead and motivate teams, balance multiple tasks, and coordinate diverse work areas.
Some of the key responsibilities of the Quality Engineer will include data analysis, quality control programs, documentation and training, product and vendor management, and internal audits.

Key Responsibilities:
• Data Analysis: Analyze data on internal and supplier quality, lead corrective actions, and identify improvement opportunities using Six Sigma and other methodologies.
• Quality Control Programs: Oversee quality control programs, ensure compliance with standards (ISO, Military, ASTM), and handle quality audits. Travel for customer and supplier interactions.
• Documentation & Training: Develop and maintain work instructions, handle production part approvals (PPAP), and provide training. Maintain quality records and update systems for quality requirements.
• Product & Vendor Management: Review and approve product drawings and routings, manage vendor relationships, and resolve quality issues with suppliers and customers.
• Internal Audits: Conduct internal ISO 9000 audits and maintain compliance with 5S system in the quality lab.
• Work Environment: Ensure a clean, safe work area, model professionalism, and assist in reducing unsafe acts and injuries. Perform additional duties as needed.
Requirements:
• Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree and Certification as a Quality Engineer, manufacturing or industrial engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years related experience and/or training.
• Minimum Skills and Experience:
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of drawings and standards (IATF, Military, ASTM, GD&T). Proficient in design for manufacture/assembly and root cause analysis.
• Quality Improvement: Strong background in statistical problem solving and Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred). Experience with US and international quality assurance.
• Technical Skills: Mechanical aptitude for failure analysis, component selection, and system recommendations. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Suite, ERP (e.g., PLEX), and ISO Quality Management.
• Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, balance multiple tasks, and coordinate diverse work areas. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Production Knowledge: Solid understanding of production, inventory, safety, and the ability to influence change and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
