Systems Development Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Systems Development Engineer to join our Design Technologies team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting the systems that our research, development, and design teams rely on to create innovative digital devices.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop scalable and reliable systems infrastructure to support our research and development teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize system requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including design documents, technical specifications, and user guides.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, including debugging and root cause analysis.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our systems remain competitive and innovative.
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, software development, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience designing or architecting systems, including experience with cloud-based systems.
- 2+ years of experience with software development, including experience with languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
- Experience with Linux/Unix and networking fundamentals, including load balancers, switches, and routers.
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals, including networking, storage, and operating systems.
- Experience with AWS cloud solutions and DevOps practices.
- Experience working in a high-paced DevOps environment.
- Experience with distributed systems at scale.
- Knowledge of database systems and SQL.
- Knowledge of a front-end language, such as JavaScript, CSS, or HTML.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
