Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager - Engineering to lead our San Antonio Transportation Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating project priorities, staffing schedules, and staff assignments to ensure clients receive the best design capabilities to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all TxDOT and municipal design projects, including highways, streets, structures, and drainage work.
  • Identify and market business opportunities with key clients.
  • Manage all aspects of project engineering, including scope development, contract negotiations, cost control, staff management, quality control, and cash management on large and multiple projects.
  • Actively manage HNTB budget and schedule, project communications, and documentation.
  • Coordinate work efforts and review work performed.
  • Manage and deliver quality civil transportation projects on-time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 10 years of practical experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas.
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, design, management, and implementation of highway/roadway civil engineering transportation projects.
  • Extensive business development and project management experience with various governmental agencies (DOT, cities, and counties).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Professional certifications, such as PMP or LEED AP.
  • Experience with project management software and tools.
