Patient Care Coordinator Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS). As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient care and clerical needs by acting as the primary contact for the unit.
- Perform phlebotomy tasks and conduct lab draws as needed.
- Provide basic hygiene care, injections, venipunctures, and other patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Transport meal trays to patients and maintain accurate and timely records.
- Serve as a patient advocate and respond to patient needs and special requests.
Requirements:
- Must have completed or hold one of the following: a formal nurse aide course, a current certified nurse aide registry, a medical assistant course, a current medical assistant certificate, a patient care technician course, a current patient care technician certificate, or be a currently enrolled in an accredited school of professional nursing.
- One year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Current Heartsaver CPR course completion card within 90 days of hire.
