Job Summary

Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and organized Patient Service Coordinator III to join our Neurosurgery team. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality customer service to neurosurgical patients and families
  • Schedule patient appointments, including surgical and ancillary tests, and obtain referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications as needed
  • Facilitate and coordinate all aspects of physician practice, including support for academic activities
  • Analyze office systems and workflow, and implement solutions to problems
  • Develop and implement process improvement plans to enhance the Neurosurgery practice
  • Collaborate with departmental manager to implement new technology and participate in meetings and process improvement projects
  • Train and orient new staff to ensure best practices and compliance with internal and MGH policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience required
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree or equivalent secretarial certificate or work experience preferred
  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new computer systems and programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Understanding of all pertinent medical insurance plans and HIPAA regulations
