Job Overview

The Building People is seeking a Junior Financial Analyst to assist the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the principles involved in assessing, executing, sustaining, and improving programmatic support and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Federal personnel for entering funding actions into financial tracking and reporting systems, ensuring timely generation of actions.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of spreadsheets for tracking and reporting diverse financial data, delivering reports as necessary.
  • Extract reports from various Government financial systems, including Standard Accounting and Reporting System (STARS), iPORTAL, and the EERE Data Center.
  • Conduct searches and gather available data and information from both printed and electronic sources.
  • Offer a wide range of planning, budgeting, performance management, reporting, communication, tools, and business management services for GTO.
  • Support corporate business management processes such as data calls, information requests, integrated reporting, budget inquiries, and information consolidation.
  • Assist in drafting responses to Congressional inquiries and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
  • Help GTO comply with existing and new mandates from DOE, Congressional, and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) such as the GPRA Modernization Act.
  • Provide administrative support for management plans, operational plans, reports, and related planning and project execution documents.
  • Demonstrate initiative and independence in identifying problems and opportunities, contributing innovative ideas for efficient management.
  • Initiate and promote quality improvements in systems, services, or work processes.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience; a Master's Degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong writing and editing capabilities.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Experience in Federal Government budget analysis and development.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
