Job Overview

Röhm, a leading supplier of methacrylate chemistry, seeks a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join their team. As a global company with a strong presence in the chemical industry, Röhm values diversity and inclusion, and is committed to operating with social responsibility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all maintenance work performed in the department, ensuring a high standard of maintenance performance. This includes establishing equipment reliability, repair efficiency, and housekeeping in the maintenance shops and on-site work locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely and in compliance with Röhm America plant standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conform with applicable loss prevention, industrial hygiene, environmental, and general standards, policies, and procedures of the company and plant.
  • Assure that all subordinate personnel are knowledgeable and trained in appropriate safety, loss prevention, industrial hygiene, environmental, and personnel policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing all maintenance work done in the department.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance shutdowns.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a written preventative maintenance program and planning and performing complete preventative and predictive maintenance on all appropriate equipment.
  • Achieve maintenance budgeted levels.
  • Responsible for planning and coordinating all maintenance work performed.
  • Work with project engineers, process engineering, and outside contractors to successfully complete required work.
  • Assure safety, environmental, quality, and craft training of personnel.
  • Monitor all maintenance department expenditures, including internal/external labor and maintenance materials.
  • Review labor costs for all contractors and items withdrawn from the Stores Dept.
  • Apply the Corporate Equal Employment Opportunity policy and implement effective affirmative action to assist the company in the attainment of goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • More than five years of experience in a manufacturing facility with responsibility for maintenance operations.
  • Experience managing multiple maintenance personnel disciplines, while maintaining proper maintenance material stock control and levels.
  • Engineering degree plus five years of experience preferred, or, minimum of 10 years of equivalent experience in a similar role, with proven technical abilities (reading schematics, understanding safety and equipment procedures).
  • Good computer skills and superior communication skills required.
  • Math skills; Reading skills; Writing skills.
  • Familiarity in working with the parameters defined in a Collective Bargaining Agreement and unionized workforce.
